Biography

Hannah Grant was born in Windsor, Connecticut on March 28, 1689.[1] She married John Mosely in Westfield, Massachusetts on September 27, 1753, subsequently changing her name to Hannah Mosely.[2] John passed away in 1752 (?), leaving Hannah a widow.[3]

Research Notes

  • There is a glaring conflict between the cited vital records data for John and Hannah's family and the cited marriage information. A marriage record from Westfield, Massachusetts specifies that John and Hannah wed in 1753.[2] However, the compiled vital record info from colonial Westfield, Massachusetts notes that John passed away in 1752.[3] The cause for this conflicting information is not clear. Perhaps these records refer to two different couples of like name in the same town, though that seems rather unlikely. More likely is that one of the aforementioned sources was incorrectly transcribed. —J. G. Coleman, Wolcott, CT (Dec 2016)
