MR. J. D. GRANT

Canowindra lost one of its most respected personalities when there passed away John Douglas Reginald Grant, at St. Vincent's Private Hospital, Sydney, on Sunday, 12th inst. Born at 'The Falls,' Canowindra, 52 years ago, Doug, was the second son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Grant. After completion of his education at St. Stanislaus' College, Bathurst, Doug carried on the management of 'The Square' and 'Cucumber at Canowindra. Two brothers, Donald and Peter (P.O.W. Malaya) and one sister, Nell (Mrs. J. Lowick, Sydney) predeceased him; while one sister, Mary (Mrs Flynn, Orange) survives.
