Prentice Grant was born 29 Nov 1783 @ North Stonington, Connecticut. He was the third child of Lucy Green & Joshua Grant.

He married twice;

1st. Lucy Brown (m. 28 Dec 1808); they had 6 children, only two of whom lived to adulthood:

1. Prentice Grant Jr (1810-1811)
2. Erastus Grant (1811-abt.1825)
3. Charles Prentice Grant (1813-1813); d. in infancy
4. Francis Nelson Grant (1815-1904); m. Lydia Davis
5. Frederick Grant (abt.1820-abt.1829)
6. Lucy Angeline (Grant) Hopkins (1823-1855); m. Fred Hopkins

2nd. Mary Horton Bentley (m. 10 Dec 1824); they had 3 children
