== Biography ==

George was born in 1805 to John Grant and his wife Sarah. He worked as an bricklayer's labourer (in 1851 he was recorded as a dealer in agricultural produce) and lived in Clewer, Berkshire. He married Susan Slaughter in 1829.

He and wife Susan had nine children:
George (1830-1857)
Charlotte (1832-)
Sarah (1834-)
Robert Henry (1836-1905)
Charles (1839-1904)
James (1841-)
Eliza (1844-)
William (1846-1923)
Edward (1848-1928).

He passed away in 1883.
