William got "Bounty Land" in Kentucky for his service. William GRAVEN moved his family to Bullitt County Kentucky from Louisa County Virginia about 1822. William was the wagon master. Susan GRAVEN, sister of William GRAVEN, came with William to Kentucky with a caravan or wagon train. She had been living in Richmond. Virginia. Early tax records show that William brought what is listed as a company of people to Barren County Kentucky in 1821. The tax list shows 149 being taxed. The 1822 tax list for Barren County shows William GRAVEN & Co. being taxed here, but lists him as owning 130 acres of land in Jefferson County. In 1823 a John GRAVEN is listed here as owning 130 acres in Barren County. They are not on the Barren County list after 1826. There is a marriage record of Nancy GRAVEN & Higgason Cosby DICKINSON in Richmond. Virginia Henrico County. Security was John GRAVEN, Witness was William GRAVEN. It also states she was a daughter of Thomas GRAVEN.
