He was a mariner and farmer of Sedgwick.
Lieutenant Co. A, 2nd Regt., 1st brig. 3rd Div, Militia of Maine 1846.

Clara Frances Gray, daughter of Martin Van Buren Gray and Desiah Bell Redman, 7 Oct 1886 at Grange Hall, North Brooksville, Hancock, Maine; She was from Brooksville and he was from Sedgwick; m. Addie F. Heath, daughter of Williard C. Heath and Clara R. York, 9 May 1897; d. 1924.
iii. Laura May Gray; b. 22 Apr 1859 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; m. Roland Hastings Howard, son of Johnson Howard and Sarah Ann Howard, 6 Apr 1881 at North Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; They were both from Sedgwick; d. 28 Mar 1935 at age 75; she was buried at Camp Stream Cemetery, Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine.
iv. Willie Gray; b. circa 1861; d. 11 Oct 1861; he was buried at Camp Stream Cemetery, Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine.
v. Llewellyn Emery Gray; b. 2 Sep 1862 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; (Calculated date); d. 15 Oct 1881 at age 19; he was buried at Camp Stream Cemetery, Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine.
vi. Preston Brooks Gray; b. 2 Jun 1865; d. 30 Apr 1938 at Blue Hill, Hancock, Maine, at age 72; he was buried at Camp Stream Cemetery, Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine. He was a farmer, died unmarried.
vii. Annie Louise Gray; b. 3 Jun 1871 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; d. 29 Dec 1907 at age 36. She was a teacher, died unmarried.
viii. Minnie I. Gray; b. 16 Nov 1875 at Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine; (date calculated); d. 6 Sep 1876; she was buried at Camp Stream Cemetery, Sedgwick, Hancock, Maine.
