Biography

John Robert Gray was born in Western Australia in 1856^[1], the son of David Gray and Rebecca Barford. The Birth Index gives the birth place as Perth, and only states the year of birth, not the exact date. He was possibly born in Gingin, about 40 miles North of Perth. His Father David Gray is said to have worked for a Mr Brockman for 2 years after emigration to Australia.^[2]

Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Gawler in Southern Australia, where sadly, John died in 1960, aged about 4.^[3]
