George Greenleaf Gray lived all his life in Carleton County near Hartland, N.B. From 1860 until his death in 1926 he kept a diary in which he faithfully recorded events of importance to him, especially births, deaths, and marriages. The original is with the Carleton County Historical Society in Woodstock, & there are a number of transcripts in private collections. It is an important reference for making searches for genealogical events in Carleton County. George was a Deacon of the Reformed Baptist Church.
Provincial Archives NB newspaper statistics recorded that George G. Gray was married to Elizabeth Ackerson on Jan. 11, 1862 by Rev. J.G. Hartley at the brides father's residence in Brighton, Carleton Co., New Brunswick (Canada).
