Private Richard Gay Jr. served with 8th Connecticut Provincial Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Richard Gay Jr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A043731.

Richard Gay was a Veteran of the Revolutionary War. He responded with the men of Simsbury to the Lexington Alarm, April 1775.

He served as a Private in Capt. Elihu Humphrey's Company, Col. Huntington's Connecticut Regiment.

In 1777 he was drafted into Capt. Noah Phelps' Company.
