On March 17, 1814, Amanda was married to Joel Lee in Sheridan, New York. [1]
Amanda's husband Joel passed away on May 15, 1836. [1]
The 1850 Census finds Amanda living with her son, Daniel, and his family in Ohio, Illinois. Also living with the family was Amanda's daughter, Sarah, and her son, Gerald.[2]
By 1855, Amanda had moved to Brooklyn, New York, and was the head of a household that included three of her children and one grandson, Gerald. Also living with the family was Ella Louise Keyes, her sister's step-granddaughter. Amanda was not employed, but her oldest son, Wellington, was working as a mechanical engineer. [3]
The 1880 Census shows Amanda is now living in Little River, North Carolina along with her daughter Hellen. [4]
Amanda Gray Lee passed away on 16 Aug 1894 in Transylvania, North Carolina, and was buried at the Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina. [5]
As of October 2020, unable to locate Amanda on the 1860 or 1870 census, which is why it was not included in this biography.
