Jane Gray was born about 1794, at Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of John Gray and Jane Simpson.
Jane married Alexander Gammack (1797-1878) on 22 October 1820, at Fraserburgh, Aberdeen, Scotland. They had eight children:

- Jean Gammack (1823-1909)
- Alexander Gamack (1824-1866)
- George Gammack (1826-1903)
- William Gammack (1831-1893)
- James Gammack (1836-1862)
