Biography

William Gray (1661 - 1719), was the son of:[1]

  • Francis, s/o Thomas Gray, ancient planter of Virginia,[1]
  • and

In a deposition dated 07 November 1690, William state that he was age 28 or thereabouts.[1]

Children

There are conflicting sources surrounding the identity of Captain William Gray's children. While Boddie (1954), lists them as below, Dorman (2004), states they are the children of William II Gray (son of Thomas Gray, ancient planter) and Elizabeth Jarrett. Jester & Hiden (1956), assert that William named five children in his will.[1]

Gray-2496 and Gray-711 appear to represent the same person because: same name, same location, same time frame, I would take the birth date 1661 and death date of 1736, I believe the death date of 1719 was a confusion with his cousin
