Biography

Edwin Greaves was born in 1846, the son of John Greaves and Elizabeth Holt. ^[1]

He emigrated to Australia with his family when he was about 12 months old. ^[2]

He married Margaret McDonald White on 30 January 1874 in Janefield, Victoria.^[3] Their children were:

• Elizabeth Greaves (1874–1959)^[4]
• Edwin John Greaves (1875–1943)^[5]

Margaret died in 1876.^[6]

Edwin remarried in 1886 in Cranbourne, Victoria, to Margaret Forrester.^[7] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}

• Charles Forrester Greaves (1890–1971)
• Sydney Alexander Greaves (1892–1966)
• Clyde Lamont Greaves (1896–1970)

Edwin died on 6 May 1934 at his home, The Springs, Berwick, Victoria, at the age of 87.^[2]
