Green-19547 has Tabitha's middle name as Browne.[10]
Tabitha was detached as a daughter of Thomas Abner and Elizabeth (Marston) Green. (And detached again 13 Oct. 2020.)
One online tree (citing Ancestry's OneWorldTree) has her father as Abner Abraham Green (and mother as Abner Green).[11]
An Abner Abraham Green is named son of Thomas Green in his 1805 will (according to transcript posted, which also shows executors included Abner Green & Abraham Green). Same webpage has transcript of Thomas Marsten Green's will, dated December 5, 1812.[12]
Her FindAGrave memorial says that she died in 1765 and was buried in the Robert HIll Family Cemetery in Halifax County.[13]
Research Notes
Estimated Dates
Birth date varies, but location is generally believed to be Virginia, although the FindAGrave memorial for Tabitha says she was born about 1680 in Halifax County, North Carolina.[13]
Source needed: Birth year is also given as 1678 or 1690. No sources for these dates or the c1680 date given by FindAGrave.
Marriage in 1703 is possible, but 1713 seems more likely, although the profile attached as daughter Hannah has a 1705 birth year (based on Edmund West Family Data Collection - Births, 2001, of her son Thomas in 1721). The 1721 marriage date given by another profile is not feasible if Hannah married in 1721 & is her daughter. However, that is the year when she is named as wife of Robert Hill in deed involving land in Isle of Wight County.[14]
Death date is uncertain, given most often as 1762 or "Apr 1765" (apparently Robert's death date). Location sometimes given as Virginia, but usually as Halifax County, North Carolina.
Robert's will mentions "my wife" but does not name her. Profiles for her have included dates from 1762 (date of her husband's will), 1765 (year he is said to have died), and 1766 (year his will was probated). These dates all assume that "my wife" in the will refers to Tabitha.
Abstracts and transcriptions of her husband's will conflict. If she was the wife mentioned (but not named) in Robert's will, written in 1762 and proved in April 1766, then she died after 1762. The following abstract for her husband's will names her and four children:
1765 Hill, Robert, wife Tabitha; Green, Sion, Abner, Milory[8][15]
A transcription of Robert's will says "... to son Sion Hill the plantation we now live on south side of Blue Marsh, after decease of my wife, to son Abner Hill... to daughter Tabitha Chapman..."[16]
Robert Hill's 1765 Will
"He [Robert Hill] made his will in Halifax on June 18, 1762, probated April, 1766 [sic] as follows: to son Green Hill a negro called Simon; to son Sion Hill the plantation we now live on south side of Blue March, after decease of my wife, to son Abner Hill a negro called Peter; to son Thomas Hill fifty pounds Virginia currency; to daughter Tabitha Chapman and daughter Agnes Harrington a negro each; to daughter Lewraina Chapman two pounds, 10 shillings; daughter Ann Steed a negro; daughter Mary Bryant land on both sides of Red Bud Creek below mouth of Crab Tree; and daughter Milbry all land above Crab Tree. Cattle to grandson, John Chapman. Sons Abner, Sion, and Green Hill Executors (Book 1, p.159)."[17]
Source shows his death as April 1765 and probate as April 1766. It shows Tabitha (his wife) died after 1730.[17]
I believe that Tabitha "The Elder" was not mentioned in her father's will as her death proceeded his in 1762. [Boren-314]
Robert's 1762 will names daughter Tabitha. Perhaps the statement meant to say "her husband's will". Robert's will mentions his wife, but not by name. One source says she died in 1730 (Morrow, citation below). Southside Virginia Families notes that Robert "is shown with a wife, Tabitha, in 1721" and "Other children of Robert and Tabitha are mentioned in the will."[14] The profile for daughter Milbry shows her birth as 1735 in Bertie.
Locations:
Birth location of "Surry, Surry, Virginia" implies Surry, the county seat of Surry County. (there was never a Surry Parish).[18] Surry County was formed in 1652 "from a portion of James City County,"[19] and Surry's Wikipedia article shows it was created 1652 also.[20]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Tabitha by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Tabitha:
i don't think she was born in North Carolina. Not sure she died there either. All the "unecessary" information deleted by Marj served to illustrate the lack of certainty. I'm torn between "restoring" the previous version & deleting unsupported info.
Do y'all have a preference? Or is Marj's version pleasing to everyone but me?
I have no info at all on a daughter Tabitha belonging to this family. A quick-and-dirty scanning of pertinent databases posted to RootsWeb/WorldConnect suggests that Tabitha's father actually was Abner Abraham Green, a different person altogether, though nobody cites any reliable sources.
update: they've been detached as her parents (edit 11/30/2016 was to fix typo... I had typed 1713 instead of 1703 for year of marriage - it's 1703 in text)
Text for Tabitha includes Isle of Wight birth & 1703 marriage. Robert Hill's wife Tabitha seems to have a lot of conflicting information. I'm still not convinced that Thomas Abner Green & his wife Anne Elizabeth Marsden are her parents, but I think for now we should leave her with them while all the duplicate profiles are merged.
This is the link to an article that lists her father as Abner Green.
