Edgar Green was born in Keighley, Yorkshire, England.

Edgar was born on January 16, 1898, in Keighley, Yorkshire, England. He was the son, and only child, of Riley Green and Lily Kelk. Edgar was Baptized on March 2, 1898, in Keighley, at Saint Andrew Church. Edgar and his mother, Lily, left England in 1904, aboard the ship, "Sarmation", out of Glasgow, Scotland. They arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on March 31, 1904. Their final destination, as listed on the manifest, was Winnipeg. Edgar's father, Riley, had previously made the trip in 1902, or 1903.

Edgar married Constance Birch, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on July 24, 1918. The couple had at least one child, Vernon, in 1923.

Edgar passed away on February 4, 1967, in Selma Park, British Columbia, Canada.
