Archibald Green/Greene was born Jun., 1828 in Ashe County, North Carolina, USA of Isaac and Sarah (Estes) Green of the Meat Camp area of North Carolina. Arch and his brother Lot migrated from Meat Camp to the Stony Fork, Deep Gap area of North Carolina. He married Barbra Greer prior to the 1850 census [1] He passed away about 1910 in Wilkes Co., North Carolina and was buried in the Greene-Archibald Cemetery, Deep Gap, Watauga County, North Carolina, USA [2] After 1860 they would also have children; Eliza, Martha, George and Joseph. He died in 1910 in Wilkes County North Carolina and was buried in Greene-Archibald Cemetery, Deep Gap, Watauga County, North Carolina (adjacent to Watauga Co.) "HIS GRAVE MARKER WAS ONLY A R0CK. ONLY HIS FAMILY KNEW THAT THIS ROCK MARKED WHERE ARCHIBALD WAS BURIED. IT WAS RECENTLY REPORTED THAT SOMEONE REMOVED THE ROCK PROBABLY NOT KNOWING WHY IT WAS THERE. IN 2014 ALETA STAFFORD FOUND THE ROCK AND AFTER A CLOSE INSPECTION IT APPEARED THAT GREEN WAS CARVED ON IT. SHE TOOK A PICTURE OF THIS ROCK AND ADDED IT TO THE Find-a grave MEMORIAL. Arch was a farmer, gunsmith and blacksmith. It was said that he was the best blacksmith in the country; people would come to his shop get anything made in the hardware line. Arch Greene and his family attended the Mount View Baptist Church which was near his farm. His little family cemetery is a short distance away. His Siblings: Lot W Greene (1833 - 1905)* Chaney Greene Martin (1835 - 1917)* William Henry Harrison Greene (1840 - 1907)* Robert Levi Greene (1846 - 1931)* " Text from find-a-grave. [5]
