John Green was a convict who came to Australia in October 1832 sentenced for fourteen years having been convicted on 6 April 1832 at Berkshire, Reading Quarter Sessions. The ship he travelled on was the Planter.
There was another John Green who travelled on the Planter, he was sentenced for seven years and convicted at MIddlesex Gaol Delivery.
Between 1832-1833 one of these John Greens was incarcerated at the gaol in Newcastle[1]. This John Green was born in 1811 and had been assigned to "Mr Robertson" and was found guilty of the crime of "feeding scabby sheep on Mr Bowman's land". A physical description was also given, he was 5 feet 2 and a half inches tall, stout build, fresh complexion, brown hair, light hazel eyes and possessing a scar on his right calf.
