PATRICIA ANN (GREEN) STEVENS 1930 - 2009
PATRICIA ANN (GREEN) STEVENS, loving wife of the late David Riley Stevens, passed away peacefully at 78 years of age at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre in Lethbridge, on January 24, 2009. Her death followed a brave two-year fight against cancer.
She is survived by her five children: Mike (Cathy) Stevens, Lethbridge; Gregory (Sheri) Stevens, Nampa, Idaho; Randy (Sandy) Stevens, Medicine Hat; Susan (LaRon) Tolley, Salem, Oregon; and Robert (Kirsten) Stevens, Salem, Oregon; also her two sisters: Georgia (Norm) Fooks, Lethbridge; and Kathleen (Jim) Cahoon, Cardston. She also has 16 grandchildren: Riley and Brett Stevens; Matt, Stacey (Mark) Jepson and Kari Stevens; Andrea (Jason) Hatch, Melissa (Duncan) Egan, David (Amy), Chris (Patricia), Cassandra and Lindsey Stevens; Kristin (Josh) Lowe, Meagan (Matt) Harrison, Adam, Jeff and Philip Tolley; Andrew, Ashley and Courtney Stevens and 11 great grandchildren: Kylan, Taylor, Dani, Sam, Joseph, Madison, Jayda, Grace, Caydence, Breyden and Addyson. She spent many hours enjoying her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, David R. Stevens, a daughter Nancy Kathleen in her infancy, her parents George and Ann Green and a sister Joan Marie Green.
Pat always lived her life to the fullest. She was born in Lethbridge at the Van Haarlem Hospital on February 25, 1930. She lived most of her life in Lethbridge where she attended primary and high school. She was a student at Brigham Young University. She was a loving mother, a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many leadership positions during her lifetime. She had a firm testimony of the gospel. Patricia had a love of life and people. She had many friends. She belonged to a club of women who had met for more than 50 years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a talented singer and musician. Patricia was an active outdoors person; hiking, golfing, camping and mountain climbing. She was an avid traveler. She worked for many years at the Family Medical Clinic where she was an assistant to Dr. Cal Stewart. Many of his patients became her lifelong friends.
Friends who would like to meet the family are invited to GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. or at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Lethbridge Alberta Stake Centre, 2410 - 28 Street South, (Enmax Centre) with Bishop Gordon Smith officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
