From "The Green Book by Grayeme & Lynne Bone. Edwin (known as Ned) had very little education , in fact his family says he only attended school for 3 weeks. At around 13 yrs of age he went to work for Alex Fraser on the neighbouring property at Tongarra. In the mid 1880's, with his brothers her went north to the Clarence to cut sugar cane. He cut cane for several years in the Lower Clarence area, returning to cut for the season even after he settled in the Glenreagh area. He married Blanche Albertha Hudson in 1893 and they set about farming on the property he had made application for of 80 acres and another 300 acres which he called "Riverdale". Blanche died on the 26th January 1916. Ned remarried on the & 7th February 1917 to Blanches sister Rosa Lee Sarah Jane Hudson. Ned played the violin and was always in demand to play at dances in the halls and barns around the area. Early in 1944 they left the farm and moved to Glenreagh. Ned died on the 3rd Sept 1944

However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
