Rocky was an avid outdoors man. He raised rabbits and bees and had dogs. He particularly loved his Rottweilers. He loved learning new things and could be often found in the library teaching himself how to do something.
Later in life, Rocky developed Alzheimer's. This didn't stop him from doing the one thing he loved the most, walking. He was known to just take off and walk for miles and think nothing of it. He was quite a character to know.
Rocky, you will be greatly missed. Rest well. - Joe
I am grateful to my daddy for teaching me to be independent. He wouldn't allow me to give in to my fear of doing something and made me do it anyway. Whether it was climbing on the roof to fix something, climbing on a motorcycle, snowmobile, etc, I had to do it. He, and my mom, helped me become a strong and independent woman. I have fond memories of these things as well as working in the yard and in the garden with him.
Another thing I am very grateful for is him sharing his love of learning with me. If my dad didn't know how to fix something, it was off to the library for us. He would check out a book, figure out what to do, and then do it. He also loved to read just to learn something new. I share his love of learning and am happy to have the opportunity to pass that on.
Finally, I loved my dad's joking around. He was always doing or saying something crazy that would just make you laugh!
I choose to remember all of these wonderful things about my dad. You always have a choice in life, to cling to the positive or to cling to the negative. I choose to cling to the positive. Thank you daddy! Love, Roxanne
