Harold was born in 1892, the son of William Heskitt and Sarah C. (Allen) Green, in San Bernardino, California, where he was raised.
In 1917 Harold was working as a clerk in the G.W. Marston department store in San Diego, California.
When America joined the battle in World War I Harold enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 18, 1917 and served as a Private in the 7th Battalion of the 166th Depot Brigade stationed in Bishop, California.
Harold was living in a boarding house in 1930, working as a traveling salesman selling securities. He would never marry.
During his time in the Army, Inyo County must have appealed to him since he was once again residing there in 1947 when he died at about 55 years of age. His body is buried along with his parents' in the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in San Bernardino, San Bernardino County, California.
