Joseph Green was born in 1778 in Rutherford Co NC, the son of William Green and Drucillia (McBrayer) Green. He was the brother of Henry Green, Abraham Green, Joseph Green, Abner Green, McBrayer Green, Charlotte Green, William Green and James Green.
Joseph Green represented Rutherford County in the House of Commons in 1825, 1827 and 1831. He is buried in the family cemetery near Bostic, beside his wife. The inscription on his headstone reads: "Joseph Green after living a Christian life of the Baptist Church for 30 years, departed this life March 17th, 1847, aged 68 years, 6 months and 29 days. He was a farmer.[1]
