Margaret was born in 1914 at 5 St Pauls Place, Southsea, Hampshire, England; her birth was registered in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.[1] She was the youngest child of William James Green and Rose Mary Perry.
In August 1914 her father William was recalled into service in the Marines for the First World War and was posted to France.
In October 1916 her mother Rose died of Tuberculosis and the five siblings were placed in the Workhouse. Her father did survive the War, but the siblings believed he had been killed.
Margaret passed away from Tuberculosis in 1938 in Uxbridge, Middlesex, England.[2] She was 23 years old. Update. 1921 English Census has Margaret recorded as inmate at Royal Naval Hostel at 454, Commercial Rd, Portsmouth, also noted mother dead.
