William Green, son of William Green (1837-1888) and Elsie Wilson (b 1838) was born at Redmoss Farm, Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland on 7 January 1886.
In the 1901 census William (age 15), Farmer's Son, was the son of Elspet Green in Redmoss, Rathven, Banffshire.[1]
On 25 Dec 1909, William, a 23 year old Farmer from Redmoss Rathven, married 20 year old Maggie Milne Benzie, a Domestic Servant from East Lodge Kennethmont. They married at the Temperance Hotel Hall in Huntly and the witnesses were George Wilson and Margaret Anderson.
William's marriage to Maggie Milne Benzie was registered on 25 December 1909 in the Huntly district, Aberdeen. William, son of William Green, deceased and Elsie Wilson, was described as a farmer of Redmoss, Rathven. Maggie, aged 20, was the daughter of Robert Benzie and Jane Stephen. [2]
William Green died 9 June 1922 at Redmoss Farm. The cause of death given as pneumonia for 7 days. The informant on the death certificate was Thomas Forbes, his brother in law of Maryhill, Rathven.
William's death (age 26) was registered in 1912 in the Rathven district.[3]
