In 1910, John Greeno (whose daughter Loana aka Lowie married John Murdock on Aug. 15, 1892 in Highfield, Hants) came to Hartford CT where Lowie and John were living. During his only known visit there, my grandfather Clarence T. Murdock, then age 16 1/2, took his grandpa John into the city. John was about 78 or 80 years old. At that time the tallest building in Hartford was 8 stories tall, which they went to the roof of. John Greeno remarked to a woman standing near him, "It's like the Queen of Sheba said to Solomon - the half was not told me". My quote might be off by a word or two but the anecdote was written by my grandfather in a multi-volume family journal he left behind. There is one photo of John taken during this visit. He passed away three years later (1913) in Hants County.
