Biography

Isaac was born in 1865. He was the son of Levi Greer. He passed away in 1957.

S/O Levi Crittenden Greer and Almyra "Myra" Miller-Greer. Both of his parents were born in NC but later moved to Pike County Kentucky. First married Nancy Addington in Pike Co. and they had 4 children: Calvin, Colbert, Nora and Roy. After Nancy's death, he married a second time to Gertrude Vanover in April 1904 and they had at least 13 more children. (Two died young and are buried near Gertrude & Isaac.)

Isaac was named for his grandfather, Isaac Newton Greer. His nickname was "Dode" given to him by his uncle. He was born near Beefhide (Myra) in Pike County KY and was a farmer. He lived in Orchard Branch in this county until he and his family moved to Lincoln Co. near Waynesburg. (Death certificate lists address as Route #1) Isaac can be found in Kentucky census records.

Isaac died April 24th, 1957 from coronary heart disease. He was 92 years old.
