Marty,

My Daniel connection in my family tree is Sarah Sophernia Daniel (1845-1916). She was born 24 Feb 1845 in Ireland. This is my great great-grandmother who married William T Drake abt. 1859 in Georgia. He was born abt 1840 in Madison Co. Georgia, but we do not have when he died.

Hello, have you done a DNA test? It's inexpensive, painless, and a very great help

oops. Meant to include a link to the DNA Project page: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:DNA

Hi and thanks for the note. But... Not sure what you’re asking. Is it a DNA question? I’m the administrator with FTDNA for both me & my Dad... I had someone match – excitingly so, since his family tradition connects to the same immigrant Noland & his branch went north while Dad’s went south/west. But I couldn’t convince him to join WikiTree. So best I could do was post a note on the shared immigrant ancestor - http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Noland-140

Perhaps since you’re kin, there’s a better solution, but I don’t know what it would be. You might asked in G2G, tag it DNA ... or contact someone with the DNA project (although they’ve been super in responding to my DNA-tagged G2G questions).

If it’s not DNA-related, um. Sorry. Try me again :D

Cheers, Liz

Hello,

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Michelle ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi. I am interested in the Phillips/Greer intersections. I have many DNA matches to this family. I do not know how I connect. Have you or anyone in these lines related to you taken DNA tests?

Hi Marty, thanks for your question.

Our GEDCOM process is a bit different than what you might be used to on other sites. We have some great help pages to make your experience go more smoothly:

Upload vs Import

What is GEDCompare

Before Importing a GEDCOM

After importing a GEDCOM

If you still have any questions about your GEDCOM or our process you can contact our GEDCOM Manager for assistance.

Good Luck!! Dorothy, WikiTree Mentor

Welcome 'Kin Keeper' Marty,

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Wow!!! You're the 1,958th Greer to join Wikitree! I'm just betting there are some 'cousins' already profiled. I'm looking forward to reading the bios on your ancestors profiles. I love that term 'Kin Keeper'!

Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.

See you in the branches --

Deborah Greeter from Georgia USA

Hi, I am the family "Kin Keeper" (as opposed to family genealogist) for the Robert Lee Daniel family of Dickson County, TN. This is my in-law family. I also research several other intertwined families too. I want to keep all my entries sourced and reliable. This has been a passion for nearly ten years and I hope to continue many more.
