Caviate
As per "Gragg Descent", and most other documentation adduced, provide that John Gregg, son of John Gregg and Nancy Wood, was born approximately 1725; since the Gregg family didn't remove from Ireland to the America's until the 1740's, John could not have been born in Augusta, Virginia.
Augusta County court records show - "John Gragg removed, 17 November 1756." It i s believed that John, with his family, moved to Pulaski County, Kentucky, in 1756.[6]Pike-2301 believes that he lived in Virginia during the war. In 1756 the British and the Colonists were fighting the French and Indian War.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
It is doubtful that John, as a middle aged man, moved his large family to Pulaski County, then Kentucky County. There were no forts in that area and was likely only visited by woodsmen. In 1784 a lot of Rev. War Vets were receiving their land bounties in that area which was then called Lincoln County.
He may have been buried there but I doubt that he moved his family there in 1756.
