Orena Gregory Garner (September 1, 1927 - February 5, 2011)

Orena Gregory Garner, 83 of Magee, MS, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Bedford Care Nursing Center in Mendenhall, MS.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on February 6, 2011 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Visitation will be held from 1 pm until service time, on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Kennedy Springs Baptist Church in Mendenhall, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm.

Burial will be in Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee, MS is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031.

Mrs. Garner was born September 1, 1927 in Simpson Co, MS. She was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church. Orena enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family who loved her. Although she had no children of her own, her nieces and nephews claimed her as their own. She treated them with the love of a mother.

Rena was survived by her, sisters, Katie Mearl Adcox, Magee and Sallie Carpenter, Willis, TX; niece, Kay Adcox, Magee; brother, Gus Gregory, Jackson, MS; a host of nieces and nephews and other family who loved her dearly.

Rena was preceded in death by her, father, Zeke Gregory; mother, Annie Womack Gregory; husband, Jack D. Garner; sister, Christine Everett; brothers, George Gregory, Calvin Gregory.

Serving as pallbearers are Charlie Adcox, Jimmie Adcox, Sonny Carpenter, Brandon Adcox, Joseph Rushing , Carnell Rankin. ^{[3] [4]}
