Private Gilead Gregory served with 4th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.
Gilead was son of Enoch and Esther(Smith) Gregory[1]
Married (1) New Haven 10 Apr 1765 Mary (Atwater) Ives, widow of Ebenezer Ives.[2] Mary was b May 7 1735-6, d Nov 30 1772, dau of Stephen and Abigail (Bradley) Atwater. [1]
Married (2) Sarah ______[3] Sarah, who presumably was a sister of Mary since she too named her eldest son Stephen Atwater, who named a son Ives. [1] Mary's sister Sarah Atwater does not match this scenario.
Gilead, in Rev War, was private in 1778, in 9th co, 4th CT Regt. In French and indian War he served 1756 in Capt David Lacey's co., 4th regt [1]

Note: A history and genealogical record of the Alling-Allens of New Haven, Conn. 258 attributes the marriage of Gilead to Mary Atwater b. 1723 d/o Daniel and Abigail (Tuttle) Atwater. Jacobus' Families of Ancient New Haven says Mary b. 1723 possibly married Edward Little of North Haven.
