Adam Gregory was born in Appalachia, in Virginia.
Adam had two wives. His first wife, Rebecca Dodrill. His second wife, Mary Margaret Cogar.
He had five children with Rebecca: Mary, Sarah, Nancy, Currence & Rebecca (Jane/Jennie). He had eight children with Mary: Thomas, Isaac, William, Margaret, Lucinda, Harriett, Rebecca & Adam.
Adam served in the Civil War as a Private for the Union. He was in the 1st Regiment, West Virginia Light Artillery, Company E. (National Park Service Records, US Civil War Soldiers, 1861-1865)
