Sarah "Sally" Gregory Sadler is first found in the 1850 Smith County, Tennessee U.s. Federal Census with her husband John and one year old child Phillip. Her birth date on this census was estimated to be 1822 [her grave estimates a birth date of 1823].
Her son's [James Ellis] death record indicates her maiden name was Gregory. Her other son's [Phillip] obituary states that his mother's maiden name was Gregory as well.
By the 1860 Census the couple had moved to Macon County, Tennessee with their children. The couple with their children still lived in Macon County for the 1870 and 1880 U.S. Federal Census.
Sally is buried in the Sadler Cemetery located in Red Boiling Springs, Macon County, Tennessee, USA with her husband John. Their son Jasper Sam Sadler is also buried in the same cemetery.
Her grave marker has the following inscription: "Professed religion at 13 yrs of age and joined the Methodist Church and lived a christian all the remainder of her life."
