A birth c1851 would make this John too young to be William’s father, and the christening given below is more likely to belong to William’s brother since both this christening and William’s list the parents as John and Ann with the father’s occupation as butcher. The original profile has this John’s christening as 1839, and this date has thus been reinstated. There are a number of christenings which might match this date, although none in Radcliffe.
