I am disconnecting John McGregory and Frances Allen as his parents. They lived in Massachusetts, where their children were born. Thomas was apparently born in Virginia (not documented in sources cited here). In 1740, after John Gregory died in Massachusetts, guardians were appointed for his minor children, not including a child named Thomas.
