Born about 1615 Thomas Gresham was son of Sir Edward Gresham and his first wife, Mary Clerke.[1] His mother died when he was still young and his father took another wife, Mary Campion. Thomas was educated at Queen's College, Oxford, graduating on 9 November 1632 aged 17. [2]
Thomas married and was father of a daughter, Joan.[1] Disinherited by his father he saw the family fortune go to his younger half-brother, Marmaduke, when their father died.[1]
Thomas died in The Fleet and was buried at St Faith's on 6 January 1655. [2]
