Biography

Wayne Douglas Gretzkey was born January 26, 1961, the son of Walter Gretzky and Phyllis Leone Hockin of Brantford Ontario.

On July 6, 1988, he married Janet Jones, an American actress and the daughter of Robert and Jean Jones of St. Louis Missouri. Their children include:

  1. Paulina,
  2. Ty Robert,
  3. Trevor Douglas,
  4. Tristan Wayne, and
  5. Emma Marie

Wayne Gretzky The Great One rose to fame in hockey at a young age. He was a hockey player and a coach and is now an entrepreneur. As a hockey player, he was a part of four Stanley Cup–winning teams with the Edmonton Oilers and holds or shares an incredible 61 National Hockey League records. His name is synonymous with number 99, which he made iconic during his illustrious career.

  • On 22 November 1999, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame [1]
  • On June 25, 1984, he was appointed Officer of the Order of Canada and invested 28 January 1998.
  • On May 25, 2009 he was promoted to Companion of the Order[2]
