Biography

Elizabeth was born in North Carolina in 1830 to the Grice family.

William N. Taylor and Elizabeth L. Grice were married July 24, 1850, in North Carolina. They left North Carolina on the 30th of September for a honeymoon trip to New York and arrived in Florida on the 6th of October. They were enumerated on the 1850 US Census (conducted in Dec 1850) living in Leon County, Florida.[1]

By 1860, the couple and their children were living in Wakulla County, Florida.[2] The household included:

When Elizabeth passed away, she was buried in the Old City Cemetery, Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida. Her grave is inscribed: wife of Wm N Taylor I.[4][5]

Slaves
