— Waneta Yvonne Lawson, 96, Hoopeston, died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 27, 1911, in Milford, the daughter of Alva and Fleetie Pellhan Griest. She was married to John W. Lawson Sr. Aug. 2, 1930, in Hoopeston. He preceded her in death. Survivors include: one daughter,Mary Ann (Allen) Finke of Indiana; one son, ohn W. (Linda) Lawson of Alaska; two sisters, elen Cravens of Illinois and Marjorie Myers of Illinois; two brothers, ack Griest of Illinois and Alva (Sharon) Griest of Illinois. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband, two daughters, Patty Lawson and Joan Lawson, and one son, Richard Lawson. Mrs. Lawson worked as a CNA at Hoopeston Hospital. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, caring for her family. Waneta attended the Hoopeston United Methodist Church and the Church of God. She enjoyed sewing and caring for others. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St. in Hoopeston; Officiating: Rev. Lewis Mershon; Burial: Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston
