He married Roxana Dexter Tripp, daughter of William and Mary Tripp, circa 1829. [4][5]
He appeared on the census of 1830 at Cicero, Onondaga Co., New York. He lived in 1838 "about 14 miles from Kalamazoo", Michigan.[6] He was visited by Emerson Gilbert Griffin in 1847.[6] He was a cooper when he and Roxanna appeared on the census of 13 Nov. 1850 at Ross Township, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan.[7] He was a cooper when he and Roxanna appeared on the census of 9 June 1860 at Ross, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan.[8] He was a cooper when he and Roxanna appeared on the census of 1 July 1870 at Ross Township, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan.[9]
Samuel died on 3 Dec. 1874 at Ross Township, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan[3] and was buried at Yorkville Cemetery, Yorkville, Kalamazoo County, Michigan. His memorial has a photo of his headstone, and links to those of family members.[4][10]
