Mary Hettie Griffin was born on 18 Dec. 1877[1] at Robinson, McLennan County, Texas, USA.[2] She appeared on the census of 18 June 1880 in the household of her parents, William Griffin and Mary Ann Rebecca Estes, at McLennan County, Texas.[3]
She married Luther Casper Lavender, son of George E. Lavender Jr. and Almeda Patman,[4] on 23 Nov. 1897 at Waco, McLennan County, Texas.[5][6]
She and Luther appeared on the census of 23 June 1900 at McLennan County, Texas.[7] She and Luther Casper Lavender appeared on the census of 16 April 1910 at Waco, McLennan County, Texas.[8]
Mary had a child, William, on Jan. 2, 1911. William died only nine days later.[6] Mary died on 7 June 1911 at 919 South 15th, Waco, McLennan County, Texas, at age 33 the cause of her death is not clear on her death certificate but typhoid fever was shown as a complication. She was buried on 8 June 1911 at Robinson Cemetery, Robinson, McLennan County, Texas.[1][6] Her memorial has a photo of a simple headstone and the dates of her birth and death.[9]
