Biography

Clarence Truman Griffin was born on 8 March 1892 at Adair, McDonough County, Illinois, USA.^[1] He appeared on the census of 6 June 1900 in the household of his parents, Henry Arthur Griffin and Sallie M. (Battin) Griffin, at New Salem Township, McDonough Co., Illinois.^[2] He appeared on the census of 18 April 1910 in the household of his parents at Bloomington, McLean Co., Illinois. ^[3]

He married Nina Blanche Weigle, daughter of L.G. Weigle and Bessie (Powelson) Weigle, on 15 April 1914 at Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa. ^[4]

He was a city salesman of tires when he and Nina appeared on the census of 7 April 1930 at Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.^[5] He was an operatior of a service station when he and Nina appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa.^[6]

He lived in 1968 at Thousand Oaks, Venture County, California.^[7] Clarence died on 30 Oct. 1969 at Ventura Co., California,^[8] at age 77 and was buried at Ridgewood Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. His memorial has a photo of his gravestone shared with Nina, and links to those of family members.^[9]
