Biography
Clara Belle Griffin was born on 30 Sep. 1863[1] at Illinois, USA. She appeared on the census of 8 Aug. 1870 in the household of her parents, William Griffin and Mary Jane (Maxwell) Griffin, at Carthage, Hancock Co., Illinois.[2] She appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 in the household of William Griffin and Mary Jane Maxwell at Carthage, Hancock Co., Illinois.[3]
She appeared on the census of 9 June 1900 in the household of her brother-in-law, Fred Perry Barnett and her sister, Fannie Adell (Griffin) Barnett, at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.[4]
She was a stenographer in a law office when she appeared on the census of 19 April 1910 in the household of parents at Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois.[5] Her father died sometime after 1910 and in 1920 she lived with her mother while working as a stenographer in Carthage, Hancock County.[6]
Her mother died after 1920 and Clara moved to Long Beach, California where she lived with her brother-in-law, Arthur McArthur in 1930[7] and 1940.[8]
Clara died on 31 Oct. 1945 at Los Angeles County, California, at age 82.[1]
