Helen Dillard Griffin was born on 26 Jan. 1907[1] at New York, USA. She appeared on the census of 21 April 1910 in the household of her parents, Edwin Milton Griffin and Irene (Dillard) Griffin, at 1520 Thirteenth St., Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa.[2] She appeared on the census of 2 Jan. 1920 in the household of her parents at 303 Second Ave., Proviso, Cook Co., Illinois. [3]
Following her graduation from Cornell University in 1928 she was a school teacher, teaching home economics.[4]
She married Robinson Gardner Lapp, son of Henry I. Lapp and Laura (Gardner), on 1 July 1931 at the Baptist Church, Eden, Erie County, New York. Her father and his father conducted the service. Her sister, Irene was the bride's maid.[4]
She was the bride's maid for the the marriage of Chester Gould and her sister, Irene Dillard Griffin, on 23 Dec. 1935 at the Baptist Church, Eden, Erie County, New York.[5]
She lived in 1997 at Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado. Helen died on 25 Aug. 1998[1] at Evergreen, Jefferson County, Colorado, at age 91 and was buried in at Elmlawn Cemetery, Kenmore, Erie County, New York. Her memorial has a copy of her obituary and a link to that of Robinson.[6]
