(1) the list of children does not match the children identified in his will; some of these listed may be duplicates and/or included in the wrong family group
(2) connection to parents also seems unlikely as he would have been only 13 years old when he married if he is attached to the correct parents.

There is no source cited for the claim that he born in 1725 in St Thomas Parish, Orange, Virginia, or that he was the son of John Griffin and Margaret Edna (Goode) Griffin. This is unlikely if we have the correct marriage record (showing marriage to Rachel in 1738 when he would have been only 13 years old). Unless anyone is aware of a source supporting this birth & origin claim, I propose to detach those parents and change the birth estimate to "abt 1715" based on the marriage date. Please let me know if anyone objects.
I too am very confused on where people are drawing their conclusions on the relationships here. I haven't had a chance to review every available Griffin in the area at the time yet, but I think there is some overreach going on in the eagerness to connect across the Atlantic. I suspect we have two couples-John and Margaret of Virginia and John and Edna of Wales, both with sons named Richard.
All dob's are very much estimated. We do have a Will for John who dies in Orange Co. with a long list of children including Wm, Richard and Anthony. Then we have the Will for William w/ bros Richard and Anthony, so these are presumed to be the same people. I think the only evidence for where the children were born is where John's Will was written. The best we can do for ages is that John said in his Will that his 5 youngest sons were under 21 (in 1743). When I tried to walk thru a guestimate of ages, I too ended up with Wm b. ca 1715.
My sticking points are more with Margaret's name and the Richard that is attached here. I'm thinking John and Margaret's son is a different Richard than the one currently connected, who I believe, is suppose have been b in and then md in Wales in 1756 even though John died in Virginia in 1744. Not impossible, but it seems more likely that his parents died in Wales. I'm not seeing enough to conclude that Margaret and Edna are the same person. I'm not sure how many Richards there are though.
Joseph G. Griffin was not a child of Wm. Griffin Sr. I have never seen any documentation that Rachell had been married to anyone other than Wm. Sr. They were married from 1738 to Wm. Sr.'s death in 1791. Rachel was 18 when she married Wm. Sr. There is no Joseph G. listed in Wm Sr.'s will, although Joseph G. supposedly lived 27 years beyond Wm. Sr.
