Biography

David was born to William and Eleanor Griffin of Appoquinimink Hundred, New Castle county.

David married Hannah Stout and had the following known children:[1]

  1. Martha Griffin
  2. Jacob Stout Griffin, born 30 Nov 1776, died 20 Feb 1851; m. (1) Rebecca Bracken, (2) Priscilla Bees
  3. Sarah Griffin, died 1802
  4. Eleanor Griffin, died 1846; m. Benjamin Blackiston

Letters of administration on the estate of David Griffin, late of New Castle county, were granted to Hannah Griffin, his widow, 19 July, 1786 ; and letters of administration on the estate of Hannah Griffin, late of New Castle county, widow, were granted to Jacob Griffin, next of kin, 11 June, 1799, with Jabez Griffin, surety.[2]
