Olive was born in New York in 1883, daughter of Sydney F. Griffin (1863-1923) and Agnes Clark (1860-1901). She married Leroy Linsley in Grand Rapids on July 2, 1900.[1] The couple had two daughters, Marguerite Evelyn (1901-1995) and Agnes M. (1902-1976). Olive and Leroy evidently moved west to California and likely divorced, although no record is found of it. Grace remarried, marrying August C. Fischer (1885-1934), a German immigrant, in Pasadena on November 3, 1922, when she was 47.[2] They had one son, Carl August Friedrich Fischer (1925-1934). They made their home in Pasadena, where August was a pastry chef at a hotel.[3] August passed away of heart disease in 1934[4][5], and her son, a Fireman First Class in the United States Navy, passed away during World War II, a naval combat casualty.[6] Olive passed away in 1957.[7]
