Worked as a farm laborer on on the farm of George Washington Dakin, his father in law. He and his wife, Julia, lived together with Julia's family for at least a year after the wedding. US Census New York 1875 (references Dakin son in law Alexander living and working on the farm)^[4]

Living with wife and two sons, 1880^[5]

By 1900, Alexander and Julia moved to Winsted CT with their two sons. ^[6]

They later lived together with son Arthur and his wife and children^[7]

Alexander lived with his daughter in law after the death of his wife and son.^[8]
