Biography

  • Ancestor of noted radio host Tom Joyner[1]
  • Fled South Carolina for unknown reasons - family owned 130 acres outside of Columbia... all the Griffins had disappeared from Blackstock by the 1930's[1]
    • Two of her brothers, Meeks & Thomas were found guilty of killing a (white) confederate veteran and electrocuted. Later information reveals the person who named them and gave evidence against them did so because they were the richest black people in that area.[1]
  • school teacher, owned a florist shop, had a travel agency, service station
  • Masters degree from PA
