Note N3438DEATH: Charleston Gazette 4/22/2003: Sophia Mae Griffith Sophia Mae Griffith, 92, of Charleston passed away April 21, 2003, in Candlelight Cottage, St. Albans. She was born Sept. 30, 1910, in Sod, daughter of the late Marion S. and Maude McClure Griffith. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Crystal Waybright. She was a retired medical records administrator, employed by Statts Hospital, a member of Randolph Street Baptist Church for over 50 years, a deaconess, president of the Women's Missionary Fellowship and a member of the church choir. Survivors include several cousins and her church family. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston, with the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lively Cemetery, Sod. Friends may call two hours prior to service at the funeral home. Wilson Funeral Home, Charleston, is in charge of arrangements.
