On the 1830 Jackson county Tennessee census he records himself between 50 and 60 years of age. One female between 40 and 50 with several young children in his household. 12 children under 20 and 1 female between 20 and 30.
If he was 40 his birth would be 1790 or if he was 50 his birth would be 1780.
So Jonas Griffith Sr was born between 1780-1790.
